SR Technical Writer

Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI with poly

The Technical Writers will provide technical writing support necessary to create and maintain system documentation as well as other supporting documentation such as presentations, blogs, training manuals, processes and procedures, guides, meeting minutes, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Professional writing in a clear, concise and complete manner
Proficiency in basic grammar skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling, usage)
Ability to convey information for appropriate audience
Editing Skills
Formal Writing Style

Technical Skills
Engineering comprehension, understand subject matter
Knowledge of government documentation standards
Basic understanding of government classification rules
Research technical information

Tool Skills
Computer savvy
Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Visio
Ability to take screen shots off system user interfaces

Interviewing and Listening Skills
Ability to know how to ask the questions to get needed answers
Ability to determine the best approach needed to reach out and work with Subject Matter Experts
Strong listening skills to capture the necessary information and to know which follow-up questions need to be answered

Design Skills
Develop graphics
Illustration skills
Formatting skills, layout and design of document
Organizational skills, consolidating information

Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with polygraph
Bachelors Degree and 5 or more years experience. An additional 4 years of experience for a total of (9) years will be considered in lieu of degree on a case by case basis
A minimum of 5 years of technical writing experience documenting complex electronic equipment and systems
A minimum of 4 year experience in effectively formatting technical publications to include writing, editing, illustration, interpretations, and depth of coverage.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience with writing technical documentation following customer standards, interpreting engineering and maintenance drawings, and interpreting operational procedures.
Strong technical writing skills (clear, concise, and complete manner)
